THE HOBBIT (Standing By Your Word)

Another lesson learned from the movie “Hobbit” (The Battle Of five Armies) is that we should learn to stand by our word. When Thorin (The king of the mountain) realized that the dragon had been slain, he locked himself up in his kingdom unwilling to give out of the so much gold and the diadem promised the elf king.
Many of us are fond of offering word that we do not plan to execute, making promises and vows we never care to fulfill. This we do to our fellow human (remember the vow to marry that person that you made in deception, what about marriage vow you made before GOD at the church or court?, the promise of help that you are sure you can’t render, etc.)  Even those we made to GOD our creator when we were asking HIM for that great thing. It’s better not to make a vow at all than make one without fulfillment.

As a child of GOD, we should be standing by our word for we are going to be judged by every word that comes from our mouth.

Our GOD is a faithful ONE, HE watches over HIS word to perform them and in HIM all HIS promises are YES and AMEN. We should be like GOD our Father unless we are a bastard.

If you’ve not accept HIM as your LORD & SAVIOUR, do so today and that Grace shall be given unto you. In this New Year, let your “Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” be “No” (Mathew 5:37)

gODS OF EGYPT

In the movies “gods of Egypt” Set told Bek that he made a wrong choice of god in Horus. There are lots of gods as there are religions in the land of the living today.
GOD ALMIGHTY created us in HIS image and gave us freewill to choose and decide for ourselves even to the extent of whom to serve, HE created us just to worship HIM and give HIM pleasure. “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4: 10-11 KJV), Joshua told the Israelite to choose the god they will serve but said as for him and HIS house they will serve the ALMIGHTY GOD (Joshua 24: 15).
HE is not a god that have eye but couldn’t see, ear but couldn’t hear, have leg but still have to be carried about, not a god that was made from wood or stone (Isaiah 46:6-7),not god that sleep, slumber or go on vacation (1Kings 18:27), not a god that cannot protect his people (Isaiah 46:2).
HE created the heaven and the earth and put everything in places (Isaiah 45: 18)
HE is a loving and always presents GOD (Ezekiel 48:35), the Great Provider (Genesis 22: 14), our Healer (Exodus 15:22-26), HE can do all things for with HIM nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37), the rewarder of those that diligently seek HIM (Hebrew 11:6)
Above all HE is wonderful and compassionate (Psalm 103:8,13, 145:8, Jonah 4:2, Joel 2:13, Luke 6:36), does not have interest in the death of a sinner (doesn’t admonish you to kill those that do not believe in HIM) the reason HE sent HIS only begotten Son (JESUS CHRIST) the one who knows no sin to die for the sin of humanity but not to judge us (John 3: 16-17). It’s only by HIM we can fine and have eternal life.
Will you not rather move into HIS camp today? Make that decision just like Joshua, accept CHRIST today and join the winning team.

The Lesson We Learnt From The Hobbit

*King Thror of Erebor was in love with his treasures (Gold) and that was where his heart was, just as the bible says in Mathew 6:21“For where your treasure, there your heart will be also” (NKJV)
And like the story of the rich fool by JESUS in the bible (Luke 10:13-21) when that most precious stone was found (The heart of the mountain) he used it as a royal sign and zeal signifying his divine right to rule, but King Thror didn’t know that someone more powerful than him was coming for his kingdom.
The bible says in 2Corinthian 10:17 “Let the one who boasts, boast in the LORD” (ESV)

*Smaug (The firedrake from the north) came for a mission: Steal the treasures, Kill the people and destroy the land, just like the bible says in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy” but JESUS came that we may have life and have it more abundantly.
That is why we must be vigilant, not too relax and stay alert all time, just as the bible says in 1Peter 5:8 “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour (Mind you, he is not a lion but roaring like a lion)

*Never look up to people for help for they can let you down, When the Smaug came to destroy the town of Erebor and Thorin the King  Thror son cry for help to the Elves king, not  wanting to risk the life of his people just turn his back (Not as GOD that sent HIS only son to deliver us)  .
For the bible says in Psalm 46:1 “GOD is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in time of trouble” (NLT)

*Believe in your course and let no one and nothing discourage or distract you.
The Elves didn’t bless that mission of reclaiming the city of Erebor but he never listens to them and I really love what he did, he walked away with his partners without informing them.
For the bible says in the book of Isaiah 50:7 says “For the LORD GOD will help me ;Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set my face as a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.” (NKJV)

*Everyone in the team is important.
Though Bilbo Baggins is small and not a warrior, his impact was felt in his own little way, he even saved the life of Thorin from Azog the orc king.
The bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:22 “No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary” (NKJV)

Some Quote from the film “Hobbit”

“Swords are named for the great deeds they did in war” Balin

“I miss my book, the armchair the garden
See, that was where I belong
That’s home
And that’s why I came back because……
You don’t have one. A home
It was taken from you
But I will help you take it back if I can” Bilbo Baggins

“True Courage is about knowing when not to take a life
But when to spear one” Gandalf
